Malia Ilagan is a professional longboard surfer from Ventura, California, competing on the World Surf League stage and representing the next generation of American longboard talent.


Growing up along the Ventura coastline, Malia developed a deep connection to the ocean and the culture of surfing. Known for her smooth style and expressive approach on the longboard, she has quickly established herself as a rising competitor on the international surf scene.


In 2025, Malia qualified for the World Surf League Longboard Tour, finishing 14th in the world during her rookie season. That same year, she earned a third-place finish at the US Open of Surfing in Huntington Beach and qualified to represent Team USA through USA Surfing for the ISA Longboard Championship. Her competitive resume also includes wins at events such as the Sum Up Longboard Pro Australia Qualifier, SuperGirl Surf Pro Longboard, and the NKF Surf Pro, along with a Queen of the Point season championship.


Beyond competition, Malia values the community and spirit of surfing. She enjoys teaching others to surf and sharing the “stoke” that comes with spending time in the ocean.

She continues to compete internationally while representing Ventura and the Southern California surf community on the world stage.
